Today, I would like to share with you a beautiful reflection written by one of my best friends. This short reflection deeply touches on humanness, human nature, which he learned from watching his adorable son. I hope you find it meaningful too. Have a blessed day today!
"Today my little son tried so hard to stand by himself. He finally stood up by holding a chair, but he suddenly began to whimper fretfully. I could not figure out why - he just succeeded to stand and it was all he had wanted! Soon, my wife came into the room and taught me the reason. My son whimpered because he just learned only how to stand and never learned how to sit down. The fact that he didn't know how to sit down scared him so much after standing awhile.
Watching my child today,
I realized something about our humanness.
We all are still like my little boy.
We know how to stand.
But we do not know how to sit down.
We know how to raise ourselves up.
But we do not know how to lower ourselves down.
We know how to be proud.
But we do not know how to be humble.
Like a standing and whimpering little baby, we vigorously want victory and success in our lives even when our inner selves whimper and our souls cry. Probably, what God wants us to learn first is how to sit down, how to lower and humble ourselves because this is the only way we free ourselves from fear and find peace. Seeing myself still eagerly desire to stand and rise by myself, today, I kneel down and pray for God’s grace and mercy."
